Hayley Atwell is a highly regarded English actress, best known for her work in film, television, and theatre. She is the only child of her parents, Grant Atwell and Allison Cain.

Allison Cain, Hayley Atwell’s mother, is British, and Grant Atwell, her father, is an American photographer from Kansas City, Missouri, of Irish and Native American ancestry. Atwell holds dual citizenship in the UK and the US.
She completed her A-Levels at the London Oratory School after attending Sion-Manning Roman Catholic Girls’ School in London.
Hayley Atwell took a two-year leave of absence to travel with her father and work as a casting director. She then enrolled at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where she studied for three years before graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in acting in 2005.

Hayley Atwell’s acting career began in the mid-2000s, with appearances in several British television series, including “The Line of Beauty” and “Mansfield Park.”
Her big break came in 2011 when she was cast as Peggy Carter in “Captain America: The First Avenger.” Atwell’s portrayal of the tough and resourceful agent made her an instant fan favourite and led to her reprising the role in the “Agent Carter” television series.
