Héctor Neris is a Dominican professional baseball pitcher for the Houston Astros of Major League Baseball (MLB).

He and his wife have  a 7-year-old son Derik and a young daughter, Johani.

Hector Neris was signed as a free agent by the Philadelphia Phillies on May 28, 2010.

In 2011, he split the season between the Class A Williamsport Crosscutters and the Class A Lakewood BlueClaws. Neris was 3-2 with a 2.75 ERA and 72 strikeouts in 59 innings pitched, averaging 11.0 strikeouts per 9 innings pitched.

He made his major league debut with them in 2014. He entered the game in the top of the 15th inning for the Phillies with the score tied at 1 on Aug. 5, 2014, against the Astros.

Neris signed a two-year, $17 million contract with the Houston Astros on November 30, 2021. Neris won his first career postseason game by inducing a two-out, bases-loaded groundout from Cal Raleigh in the sixth inning of Game 2 of the American League Division Series (ALDS) against the Seattle Mariners.

In the postseason, he went 2-0, allowing two hits and one run in eight appearances and six innings (1.50 ERA). He struck out nine batters and walked none, yielding a championship win probability added (cWPA) of 9.9%.
