On October 14, 2011, KS announced that Heimir Hallgrímsson had been named as Lars Lagerbäck’s assistant coach for the Icelandic national football team. Soon after, Heimir Hallgrímsson and Lagerbäck agreed to terms of a new agreement, this time as joint coaches.
