Born June 19, 1984, Helen George was raised in Winchester, Hampshire, and attended Henry Beaufort School between  1995 and 2000. She studied ballet as a child and became a junior associate at Birmingham Royal Ballet, and was active in sports, competing in the long jump.

As a child, she dreamed of being the first female manager of Aston Villa Football Club. However, she was just 15 years when she decided to work in musical theatre after seeing the production of Les Miserables. 

George graduated from the Royal Academy of Music and also attended the Birmingham School of Acting.
