The Native American professional ice hockey center Henry Boucha died on September 18, 2023 (June 1, 1951). Between 1971 and 1977, Boucha competed in the World Hockey Association (WHA) as well as the National Hockey League (NHL).

He participated in NHL games for the Detroit Red Wings, Minnesota North Stars, Kansas City Scouts, and Colorado Rockies as well as WHA games for the Minnesota Fighting Saints. An eye injury caused by Dave Forbes ended his career.

Internationally, Boucha participated in two World Championships and the 1972 Winter Olympics, where he earned a silver medal, with the American national team. Both Gary Sargent, a distant cousin of Boucha, and T. J. Oshie, a second cousin, are full-blooded Chippewa Ojibwa who have participated in NHL competition.
