Roddick’s serve was known for its power, usually travelling at around 130–150 mph (209~242 km/h) and often unreturnable. He once held the record for fastest serve at 155 mph (249.4 km/h).

His favorite shot is his off-forehand, which he used in combination with his kicker out wide. Roddick used to play his off-forehand often but subsequently adjusted and used it to create points.

Roddick usually targeted the two corners to win aces. As for his second serve, he predominantly employed a heavy kick serve, then used a variety of spins, slices, and angles in the rally to throw off his opponent.

He was noted for using heavy topspin on both his serves and his twist serve was extremely high kicking.

Roddick also periodically used the serve-and-volley tactic on both first and second services to surprise his opponent, though he generally remained near the baseline after a serve.

The fastest serve ever recorded at Wimbledon was in 2010 by the American, Taylor Dent, who recorded 238.2 km/h (148 mph).

Andy Roddick came in second with a serve recorded at SW19 in 2004 at 235 km/h (146 mph).

In his career, Andy Roddick made it to five Grand Slam finals including two US Open Finals and three Wimbledon Finals, winning one and finishing runner-up in the other four. He won his only grand slam championship in 2003.
