Armand Gustav “Mondo” Duplantis is a Swedish-American pole vaulter who holds the world outdoor and indoor records, as well as the European and Diamond League titles.

At the 2019 World Championships, he took silver. Duplantis achieved national freshman records both indoors and outdoors as a freshman at Lafayette High School in 2015, earning him the title of Gatorade Louisiana Boys Track & Field Athlete of the Year.
The Mondo Classic in Uppsala, named after Duplantis, got his 2023 campaign off to a promising start.
His winning height of 6.10 m (20 ft 0 in) not only represented his best-ever season opener but also the highest season-opening performance by any pole vaulter in history.
