Julian Charles John Lennon is best known as the son of famous Beatles member John Lennon and his first wife, Cynthia. He was born on April 8, 1963, in Liverpool, United Kingdom.

Julian Lennon is named after his paternal grandmother, Julia Lennon. He rose into the spotlight as the son of John Lennon. His father, John Lennon was an English singer, songwriter, musician and peace activist.

John Lennon had 25 number-one singles on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. His best-selling album, Double Fantasy, won the 1981 Grammy Award for Album of the Year and in 1982, he won the Brit Award for Outstanding Contribution to Music.

John Lennon had been voted eighth in a BBC history poll of the 100 Greatest Britons in the year 2002. He was ranked by Rolling Stone as the fifth-greatest singer and thirty-eighth greatest artist of all time.

John Lennon was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame (in 1997) and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (twice, as a member of the Beatles in 1988 and as a solo artist in 1994.

However, a trust of £100,000 was created by his father to be shared equally between Julian and his half brother Sean as part of the 1967 divorce when Julian turned 21. Julian Lennon is also believed to have received £20 million in 1996.
