American model and actor Tyson Beckford was discovered by a talent scout in 1992 while hanging out in a city park

After this initial encounter, Tyson Beckford began his modeling career by signing with the prestigious modeling agency Ralph Lauren, which helped catapult him to international fame.

He quickly became one of the most sought-after male models in the industry due to his chiseled features, tall stature, and photogenic qualities.

Beckford’s breakthrough came when he became the face of Ralph Lauren’s Polo Sport fragrance campaign in the 1990s. This high-profile modeling gig helped establish him as a supermodel and opened doors to numerous other modeling opportunities and fashion campaigns.

Beckford was named “Man of the Year” by the cable television music channel VH1 in 1995, and People magazine named him one of the “50 Most Beautiful People in the World.”

He was placed 38th on VH1’s list of the 40 Hottest Hotties of the 1990s. Beckford co-hosted the modeling competition Make Me a Supermodel on Bravo with fellow supermodel Niki Taylor.
