Irene Paredes, who was born on July 4th, 1991 in Legazpi, Guizpao, Spain, began her career with the club in her hometown before moving on to Sociedad Deportiva Urola, Deportivo Zarautz, and finally Real Sociedad. At the age of 17, Paredes made her league debut with La Real.

In 2011, she transferred to Athletic Club. She was a member of their 2016 league-winning team before moving to France and playing for Paris Saint-Germain before joining FC Barcelona. In November 2011 against Romania, she participated in her first game for Spain’s national team.
