Gillian Flynn has gained widespread acclaim for her thriller and mystery novels, including Sharp Objects, Dark Places, and Gone Girl.

Gillian Flynn received her high school education at Bishop Miege High School and graduated in 1989. Flynn later attended Northwestern University and obtained a master’s degree from its Medill School of Journalism in 1997.

Gillian Flynn’s books have been translated into 40 languages and have sold over 15 million copies worldwide, with Gone Girl alone selling more than 15 million copies according to The Washington Post in 2016.

Gillian Flynn wrote the screenplay for the 2014 film adaptation of Gone Girl, directed by David Fincher. She received critical acclaim for her work on the script, winning the Critics’ Choice Movie Award for Best Adapted Screenplay and receiving nominations for the Writers Guild of America Award for Best Adapted Screenplay and the BAFTA Award for Best Adapted Screenplay, among others.
