The Pennsylvania native is best known for her roles as attorney Jessica Griffin on the CBS soap opera As the World Turns (1987–1995, 2000–2007, 2009) as well as Melinda Warner in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (2000–2021).
Besides acting, Tunie’s philanthropic activities include the Figure Skating in Harlem program, Harlem Stage/The Gatehouse, and God’s Love We Deliver.
Tunie was elected to Carnegie-Mellon University’s board of trustees in 2020.
