Victor Mick Fangio was born on August 22, 1958, in Dunmore, Pennsylvania, United States of America. From 1979 to 1981, Vic Fangio served as the linebackers coach and defensive coordinator in his high school.

Vic Fangio has led the defences for the San Francisco 49ers, Stanford University, Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts and Carolina Panthers.

In 1982, Vic Fangio was the defensive coordinator at Milford Academy. In 1984, Vic Fangio became a defensive assistant coach for the Philadelphia/Baltimore Stars of the United States Football League (USFL).

Vic Fangio joined the Baltimore Ravens in 2006, working as a special assistant to the head coach/defensive assistant for his first three years with the Ravens.
