Jeļena Ostapenko, also known as Aļona Ostapenko, is a Latvian professional tennis player with a career-high WTA rankings of world No. 5 in singles, achieved on 19 March 2018, and world No. 17 in doubles, reached on 2 March 2020.

Ostapenko won the 2017 French Open singles title, becoming the first player from Latvia to win a Grand Slam singles tournament and the first unseeded player to win the French Open since 1933.

Ostapenko has won seven singles and eight doubles titles on the ITF Women’s Circuit, and she also won the junior singles event at the 2014 Wimbledon Championships.

Does Jeļena Ostapenko Have Type 1 Diabetes? There are several questions regarding Ostapenko’s health concerns, including diabetes, but there hasn’t been any official communication from Ostapenko which indicates that she’s diabetic.

The rumors of Ostapenko being diabetic is likely to have spread after she posted a photo in November 2021, wherein she appeared to have gained considerable weight.

According to Medical News Today, young adults with type 1 diabetes have a higher likelihood of developing excess body weight or obesity than people who do not have diabetes.

Also, at least 85% of people with type 2 diabetes are either overweight or have obesity. People with diabetes may also gain weight as a side effect of insulin therapy.
