Pruitt was born May 28, 1974 and currently serves as senior defensive assistant for the New York Giants of the National Football League (NFL).

He had been head coach at the University of Tennessee for two years, as well as a defensive coordinator at the University of Alabama, the University of Georgia, and Florida State University.

Pruitt has also been Crimson Tide’s defensive backs coach and was an assistant coach at the high-school level.

He played nine games during his junior season and seven games during his senior season.
