Jerome Tang has had a successful career working as a head coach. He had previously been an assistant coach under Scott Drew from 2003 to 2022 at Baylor.
During his time at Baylor, Tang helped the Bears to a 397-222 (.641) overall record, including a 168-155 (.520) mark in Big 12 play, as well as 13 postseason appearances (10 NCAA Tournaments, 3 NITs), one NCAA title (2021), one NIT title (2013), and one NIT runner-up finish.
In the process, he has assisted in the development of 11 All-Americans, including consensus selections Johnathan Motley (2017) and Jared Butler (2021).

In 2022, three Bears were named All-Big 12, including senior transfer James Akinjo, who was named First Team.
Tang assisted Baylor in winning 12 of its last 15 games, including three in three days to advance to the 2014 Big 12 Championship game.
In 2013-14, the Bears won 26 games and advanced to the Sweet 16 for the third time in five years, becoming one of only 12 programmes in the country to do so between 2010 and 2014.
