The song was released in February 2014 and reached number one on the UK Singles Chart. It was later certified Platinum by the British Phonographic Industry. She also collaborated with British band, Clean Bandit to release the son Rather Be, which also attained number one and top five positions on charts across Europe and Oceania, and was a top ten hit on the US Billboard Hot 100. Both My Love and Rather Me were nominated for BRIT Awards for Best British Single.
