Jesus (Chuy) García wife: Who is Evelyn Garcia?

Jess G. “Chuy” Garca, an American politician, was born on April 12, 1956, and has been the 4th district representative for Illinois since 2019. Before being elected to Congress, he held Democratic Party positions on the Cook County Board of Commissioners, the Illinois Senate, and the Chicago City Council.

In 2015 and 2023, he also ran for mayor of Chicago. He has been labeled a progressive throughout his time in Chicago politics and in the federal government.

In 1986, Garca won his first election to the Chicago City Council. He was well-known for being a steadfast ally of Mayor Harold Washington while serving on the city council.

In 1980, Garca wed Evelyn Garca, and the two became parents to three kids. They reside in South Lawndale, Chicago’s Little Village neighborhood. Garcia’s daughter Rosa passed away in April 2023 at the age of 28.

Garca ran unopposed in the primary for reelection in 2020. The lone Republican to submit a form before the deadline was Christopher Lasky. Lasky passed away on December 23, 2019, however he was the lone person on the primary ballot and he was declared the winner posthumously. Party officials selected local political figure Jesus Solorio as the new Republican nominee following the primary. Garca received approximately 85% of the vote in the general election.
