Born on August 19, 1927, in Lenoir, North Carolina, Broyhill served as member of the Republican National Committee for 28 years.
He attended the University of North Carolina and took over his father’s company before he embarked on civil leadership.
Broyhill first ran for an elected office in 1962 for North Carolina’s 9th Congressional District. Broyhill.

Broyhill passe away at a retirement home in North Carolina on February 18, 2023. He was aged 95.
Broyhill bad battled congestive heart failure for many years before his demise.
He is survived by his wife, Louise Broyhill, a daughter, Marilyn, son, Ed and six grandchildren: Elizabeth Broyhill Morris, James Broyhill, Penn Broyhill, Laura Beach Dugan, Lindsay Beach Grdina and Ashley Beach Brooks.
