Joan Crawford was the first wife of the legendary American broadcaster Vin Scully. She rose to fame after her marriage to him.

Vin and his first wife, Joan, were married for nearly 15 years when she passed away in 1972 at the age of 35.
According to reports, she passed away from an “accidental overdose of medicine”. Vin and Joan shared three young children and following Joan’s passing, they were all taken care of by Vin.

On August 2, 2022, fifty years after the passing of his first wife Joan, Vin Scully also died. He died at his home in Hidden Hills, California, at the age of 94.

Vin was best known for his 67 seasons calling games for Major League Baseball’s Los Angeles Dodgers, beginning in 1950 (when the franchise was located in Brooklyn) and ending in 2016.
In addition to Dodgers baseball, Scully called various nationally-televised football and golf contests for CBS Sports from 1975 to 1982, and was NBC Sports’ lead baseball play-by-play announcer from 1983 to 1989.
He also called the World Series for CBS Radio from 1979 to 1982 and again from 1990 to 1997.
