Robert and Joan were married for barely 9 years. They met during a live commercial in 1958.

Not long after meeting, they got married and had a daughter, Paula, who was born in 1962. In 1967, five years after the birth of their daughter, they divorced.

Hotchkis didn’t marry after the divorce and maintained a good co-parenting relationship with Foster. Foster was a director.
