John McCoy (politician) children: Did John McCoy have kids?

Democratic Party politician John Richard McCoy was from the Tulalip Tribes of Washington and lived in Washington state from October 29, 1943, until June 20, 2023. He represents the 38th Legislative District and was appointed to the State Senate in 2013 to fill a vacancy. From 2003 to 2013, he held a seat in the Washington House of Representatives for more than ten years.

The only other self-identified Native American in the state senate was McCoy. He was one of the state legislature’s two Native Americans in 2013, together with Jeff Morris (a Tsimshian). On June 6, 2023, word of his demise was released. Involved in the Democratic Party, McCoy had recently joined. He successfully sought for government as a state lawmaker in 2002. He held office from 2003 to 2013, winning several reelections.

The Snohomish County Council chose McCoy on November 27, 2013, to replace the position left open by Senator Nick Harper’s resignation. The Democratic Precinct Committee Officer who received the most votes in the 38th Legislative District of Washington was McCoy. On April 17, 2020, he announced his retirement from the State Senate due to health issues. Appointee June Robinson took his place.
