John Nuttall was an esteemed British long-distance runner who made a mark in the realm of track and cross country running, representing Great Britain with pride.

His athleticism reached its pinnacle at the 1996 Summer Olympics.

Nuttall’s commitment to the sport saw him don the British colors at two World Championships in Athletics (1993, 1995) and an impressive five appearances at the IAAF World Cross Country Championships.

His presence on the international stage was marked by a silver medal at the 1994 IAAF World Cup and a bronze at the 1994 Commonwealth Games, underscoring his status as a seasoned competitor.

As he entered his thirties, Nuttall made his last high-profile appearance for Great Britain at the 1998 IAAF World Cross Country Championships, securing the 75th place.

In his late thirties, Nuttall embraced road running on an informal basis.

Notable among his achievements during this period was completing the 2007 London Marathon in a commendable time of 2:57:26 and finishing the Great North Run in 82:32 minutes.
