Paintsil, who has been under intense scrutiny since assuming his coaching role, named Veronica Commey, Saddick Adams, Christopher Nimley, and Patrick Osei Agyemang, also known as Countryman Songo, as defendants in his lawsuit.
Alongside these journalists, Paintsil has targeted media entities Omni Media Limited, Angel Broadcasting Network, and Multimedia Group in his legal action.
The lawsuit, served to the defendants, demands a response within eight days, requiring them to appear in court to address the allegations of defamation.

This legal action stems from Paintsil’s previous public disagreements with the named journalists, particularly regarding their involvement in a demonstration against the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
The protest aimed to shed light on the perceived shortcomings in Ghanaian football and sports in general, urging regulatory bodies to take action.
Paintsil’s vocal defense of the GFA and the ministry during the demonstration drew criticism from the journalists in question, prompting a further rift.
The subsequent legal action underscores the heightened tensions within Ghana’s sports community and highlights the potential legal consequences of public criticism and dissent.
As Paintsil continues to navigate his role within the Black Stars coaching staff, this legal dispute adds another layer of complexity to his tenure.
