Jonathan Stephen Ross is a film critic, comedian, actor, writer, and producer from England. Jonathan Stephen Ross was born in St Pancras, North London, on November 17, 1960, and raised in Leytonstone, East London. Ross has four brothers and one sister and is the son of John and actress Martha Ross. Ross is the younger brother of Paul Ross, a journalist, television editor, and media personality.

Ross began his professional life as a researcher on Channel 4’s Loose Talk. After leaving this, he worked on a few other shows before returning to Soul Train for another research job, which became Solid Soul.
