Jonathan Stephen Ross is a film critic, comedian, actor, writer, and producer from England. Jonathan Stephen Ross was born in St Pancras, North London, on November 17, 1960, and raised in Leytonstone, East London. Ross has four brothers and one sister and is the son of John and actress Martha Ross. Ross is the younger brother of Paul Ross, a journalist, television editor, and media personality.

Ross began his professional life as a researcher on Channel 4’s Loose Talk. After leaving this, he worked on a few other shows before returning to Soul Train for another research job, which became Solid Soul. Ross’ first television appearance is thought to have been as an extra in 1981 It Ain’t Half Hot, Mum episode The Last Roll Call.

Ross’s brand-new talk show The Jonathan Ross Show premiered on ITV1 on September 3, 2011, with 4.3 million viewers, compared to 4.6 million for his BBC show finale. The first season lasted 13 weeks. “I am thrilled and excited that after a short break, I will be rolling up my sleeves and creating a brand new show for ITV1,” Ross said of the new show.
