Josie Isabel Long is a British comedian.

Josie Long started performing as a stand-up at the age of 14 and won the BBC New Comedy Awards at 17.

In 2006, Josie Long won the If.comeddies Best Newcomer award at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe for her show Kindness and Exuberance.

Josie Long has been nominated for the Edinburgh Comedy Award for Best Show three times.

In 2012, Josie Long and director Doug King produced two short comedy films in Glasgow called Let’s Go Swimming and Romance and Adventure, which were nominated for a BAFTA Scotland New Talent Award.

Josie Long attended Michael Knighton’s comedy course in Beckenham, London.

At 18, Josie Long  gave up stand-up whilst attending Lady Margaret Hall, University of Oxford, ran experimental comedy clubs, and graduated with a degree in English.

After graduating, Josie Long returned to live stand-up, supporting Stewart Lee on his spring 2005 tour. In March that year, Josie Long was named Best Newcomer at the 2005 Chortle Awards.

Josie Long miraculously survived a car accident after a lorry carrying logs drove over the car she was in. Josie Long’s car then hit a tree and a log came through the windscreen and stopped right close to her face.

What happened Josie Long?

After the scare, Josie Long went to a Chinese restaurant and had the biggest meal and ate her heart out.

Josie Long said;

“From now on I’m going to be kinder to myself and stop beating myself up about weight and dieting.”
