June Brown was an English actress and author who died on April 3, 2022, at the age of 95. She was best known for her role as Dot Cotton on the BBC soap opera EastEnders. In 2005, she won Best Actress at the Inside Soap Awards and received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the British Soap Awards.

Her obituary was announced first on Twitter. An EastEnders spokesperson said the entire cast and crew are “deeply saddened” at her passing. June had appeared in a staggering 2,884 episodes over the years.

How June died has not yet been revealed. It is only known that she died on 3 April 2022, at the age of 95.
