Earlier yesterday, Grammy award winner, Wizkid hinted at collaborating with Canadian Singer, Justin Bieber. In less than 24 hours, the worldwide Afrobeat tune, ‘Essence’ by Wizkid featuring Tems has hit music streaming platform with its new remix featuring Justin Bieber.

On Wizkid’s Instagram story yesterday, he hinted on the collaboration with Bieber after he appreciated him for sending his vocals.
On the remix, Bieber crept in midway through the song after the melodious entrance by Tems. Wizkid followed up calmly, and then, Bieber entered.

Some people have expressed their displeasure towards the song because according to them, they didn’t see the relevance of the remix since the song was doing absolutely well on its own. Others also argued that, the song is by far the most precious African song to top international charts, therefore, it didn’t need a collaboration from anyone, especially a non-Afrobeats artiste.
Others also think that the remix will open more doors for Wizkid in the international space since Bieber is very dominant there.
