Kaur Singh, an Indian heavyweight champion boxer from Punjab who died on April 27, 2023, was born in 1948 or 1949.

At the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, he represented India. Singh took home three gold medals from the Asian Boxing Championship, the Asian Games, and the senior national boxing championship.
At the senior national boxing championship in 1979, Singh took home the gold title, which he held onto for four more years, until 1983.

Singh took up the gold in the Asian Boxing Championship in Mumbai in 1980.
At the Asian Games in New Delhi in 1982’s heavyweight division, Singh took home a gold medal. That same year, the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports also gave him the Arjuna Award.
Singh received the Padma Shri award from the Indian government in 1983 for his remarkable contributions to Indian sports.
