Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu’s parents, Yemuş and Kamer Kılıçdaroğlu were Kurdish Alevi farmers who lived in a small village in eastern Turkey. Kılıçdaroğlu’s father passed away when he was very young, leaving his mother to raise him and his siblings on her own.
