They tied the knot in 1972 and divorced 7 years later, in 1979.
Kristen was born in 1951 in Southport, Connecticut, USA to her parents, Joseph H. Tomassi and Jacqueline Tomassi.

Kristen grew up with her siblings, three sisters, Merril Delaney, Jacquelyn Richardson, and Lowell McHugh.

She is an alumnus of Concord Academy, Fairfield University, the Parsons School of Design in New York as well as the Arizona State School of Architecture.
Her father, Joseph J. Tomassi Jr., was reported to be a mergers and acquisitions specialist and an industrial executive who was involved in various business ventures before establishing North American Matric Ltd. in Milford, Connecticut.
He was also the director of international marketing and development for Libby, McNeill, Libby International, producers of canned and frozen foods.
Sadly, Kristen’s father Joseph H. Tomassi passed away in 1990.
Kristen’s mother Jacqueline Tomassi, is an artist.
