Kyle Benjamin Gibson is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Philadelphia Phillies of Major League Baseball (MLB). The Minnesota Twins selected Gibson in the first round, 22nd overall, in the 2009 MLB Draft.

He previously played in MLB for the Twins and the Texas Rangers. He made his MLB debut in 2013.
On July 30, 2021, Gibson was traded to the Philadelphia Phillies along with Ian Kennedy, Hans Crouse, and cash considerations in exchange for Spencer Howard, Kevin Gowdy, and Josh Gessner.
He recorded his 1,000th career strikeout in his Phillies debut on August 1, fanning Michael Pérez of the Pittsburgh Pirates in the fifth inning of a 15–4 Phillies rout.
In 2022 he was 10-8 with a 5.05 ERA in 167.2 innings over 31 starts. He gave up 24 home runs, the 10th-most in the NL.

Kyle Gibson Trade
The Texas Rangers dealt pitchers Kyle Gibson and Ian Kennedy to the Philadelphia Phillies in a deadline trade Friday in exchange for rookie right-hander Spencer Howard and two other pitching prospects.
Texas also sent pitching prospect Hans Crouse, a second-round draft pick four years ago, and cash to the Phillies. Howard (0-2, 5.72 ERA), who was Philadelphia’s second-round pick in 2017, is going to Texas with right-handers Kevin Gowdy and Josh Gene.
Gibson (6-3, 2.87 ERA) was a first-time All-Star this season, but the 33-year-old right-hander lost his last three starts for Texas.
Kennedy had 16 saves in 17 opportunities for the last-place Rangers, and the 36-year-old right-hander hasn’t issued a walk in his last 11 appearances, a span of 45 batters dating to June 4.
