Kemi Ogunyemi, the Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Health, disclosed that the death toll has now reached 21, which is six more than the previously reported fatalities in the State. Additionally, the number of cholera cases has risen to 401, up from the initial count of 350 infections.
According to her, the increase in cases was expected following the Sallah celebrations, which involved large gatherings.

She noted, however, that suspected cases are decreasing across local government areas, particularly in those previously affected, due to the State Government’s interventions and surveillance efforts.
Ogunyemi mentioned that the Lagos State Government, through the Ministry of Health and other related agencies, is keeping a close watch on the situation and launching effective initiatives and actions to control the spread of the disease.
