The feud between the two industry heavyweights revolves around the rights and royalties associated with the popular series. Ini Edo, through her legal representatives, has reportedly issued a cease and desist letter to Netflix, urging the streaming giant to refrain from entering into any agreements with Nworah regarding the production’s sequel.
According to the contents of the letter, Edo asserts that the producers, including herself, are entitled to a share of the proceeds from “Shanty Town,” challenging Nworah’s alleged unilateral control over the project. The actress contends that a mere 5% share of the profits is insufficient and that ownership rights should be distributed more equitably among the project’s contributors.

Furthermore, Edo’s legal team alleges that Nworah entered into agreements with two additional entities, effectively transferring ownership rights to three individuals, thereby complicating the issue of ownership.
In response to the legal challenge mounted by Ini Edo, Chinenye Nworah has vehemently denied the allegations, asserting her sole ownership of the “Shanty Town” series. Nworah rebuffed Edo’s claims as false and motivated by ill intent, defending her rights as the rightful proprietor of the project.
The dispute between Ini Edo and Chinenye Nworah underscores the complexities and challenges inherent in the entertainment industry, particularly regarding intellectual property rights and profit-sharing arrangements. As the legal battle unfolds, stakeholders and fans alike await further developments in the ongoing saga surrounding “Shanty Town” and its contentious ownership rights.
