Aside from being a celebrity sibling, Richard is a talented writer, actor, and singer.
Born in Michigan, as a child he began doing shows in his backyard with his sister Lily Tomlin.
He studied graphics at Portsmouth College of Art and subsequently practiced as a graphic designer in London.
Recently he decided to refresh lost skills in drawing and painting. His fascination with people and the inspiration from the work of David Hockney, Lucian Freud, Andrew Wyeth, and Alison Lambert, led him to focus on the human figure and portraiture.

However, Richard’s sister Lily Tomlin is an American actress, comedian, writer, singer, and producer who is well known for her role on the variety show Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In from 1969 to 1973.
As a singer, Lily Tomlin has numerous songs to her credit including My Minnesota Home, Mr. Veedle, The Last Duet, Goodbye to My Mama, Hey Lady, The Marriage Counselor, I Always Kiss Buster, Lady Lady Open Up, Suzie Sorority, Alexander Graham Bell, Peeved, The Pageant, I.B.M., Joan Crawford, Awards Dinner, Suburbia Square Dance, and many more.
