Lincoln Almond and his wife Marilyn lived in Kingston, Rhode Island and Wellfleet, Massachusetts. Marilyn was his foundation and his tireless caregiver in recent years.
Lincoln Almond passed away on January 2, 2023, at the age of 86. No cause of death was provided.

Lincoln Almond served as the United States Attorney for the District of Rhode Island from 1969 to 1978 and again from 1981 to 1993.

He made his name with a string of political indictments and drug convictions, including busting an extensive money laundering ring run for Colombian drug lords.
As the 72nd Governor of Rhode Island from 1995 to 2003, Almond expanded health care and daycare opportunities for children, boosted funding to update neglected state college campuses, and overhauled the state Department of Economic Development to help diversify the economy and bring tens of thousands of well-paying jobs to the state.
