Lindsey Caroline Vonn is a former World Cup alpine ski racer for the United States Ski Team. Vonn received the Laureus Sportswoman of the Year award in 2010 and was named the US Olympic Committee’s sportswoman of the year. Injuries forced Vonn to miss significant portions of several seasons, including nearly all of the 2014 season and the majority of the 2013 season. While recovering from her injury, she worked as an NBC News correspondent covering the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. Vonn announced her retirement in 2019, citing her injuries.
