Popularly known as Lita Ford, Lita Rossana Ford was a British-born American guitarist, singer, and composer who played lead guitar for The Runaways, an all-girl hard rock band, in the late 1970s.They gained notoriety in the rock industry thanks to their punkish sound and disobedient lyrics. The band enjoyed enormous success abroad, particularly in Japan, but was unable to find any success at home.

Ford launched a lucrative heavy metal solo career after the band disbanded in 1979. She studied voice, put out her debut solo album, “Out for Blood,” then followed it with “Dancin on the Edge.” Ford simply disappeared for a few years from the rock scene after neither of his albums had any success.

On September 19, 1958, Lita Ford was born in London to an Italian nurse mother and an English soldier father. Her family relocated to the United States and resided in Long Beach, California when she was in the second grade.
When she was 11 years old, she picked up the guitar after being inspired by Ritchie Blackmore’s work with Deep Purple.
