Mako Vunipola is a professional rugby union player for the English club Saracens and the England national team. Vunipola obtained residency in England after being born in New Zealand to Tongan parents.

Vunipola was called up to the England Saxons squad in September 2012 to replace David Wilson, who had been promoted to the senior squad, and was included in the senior England squad for the 2012 Autumn Internationals in October. He made his Test debut as a replacement for Joe Marler against Fiji on November 10, 2012. Vunipola was shown a yellow card in a win over New Zealand the following month.

Vunipola scored his first try for England in the final round of the 2014 Six Nations Championship, when England defeated Italy 52-11. Vunipola was chosen by coach Stuart Lancaster for the 2015 Rugby World Cup and appeared in all of the hosts’ pool games as they failed to advance to the knockout stage.
