Mark Strong is a British actor and producer.

He was born on August 5, 1963 in London, United Kingdom.

Strong attended Wymondham College in Norfolk. He aspired to be a lawyer but returned to London following one year of studying German law at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich.

Strong then studied English and drama at Royal Holloway, University of London before attending the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School.

He rose to prominence in 1996 when he starred in the BBC drama series, Our Friends in the North (1996) and has appeared in over 100 films.
