Mark Strong stands at a height of 6 feet 2 inches (1.88 m) tall.

Raised in Myddleton Square, Kensington, Strong attended Wymondham College in Norfolk. Strong aspired to be a lawyer but returned to London following one year of studying German law at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. He subsequently studied English and drama at Royal Holloway, University of London before attending the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School.
Strong shot to fame in 1996 when he starred in the BBC drama series, Our Friends in the North (1996).
He has since starred in over 100 films and tv shows including Stardust (2007), RocknRolla (2008), Sherlock Holmes (2009), Kick-Ass (2010), Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (2011), The Imitation Game (2014), Kingsman: The Secret Service (2014), Kingsman: The Golden Circle (2017), Shazam! (2019), Temple (2019), Cruella (2021), Nocebo (2022), Can I Help? (2021), Tár (2022), and many others.

In 2015, Strong won the Olivier Award for Best Actor for his role in A View from the Bridge, for which he also won the Critics Circle Award. He was also nominated for the Tony Award and won the Theatre World award for the same performance on Broadway.
As of 2022, Mark Strong has appeared in three films that were nominated for the Best Picture Oscar: Zero Dark Thirty (2012), The Imitation Game (2014) and 1917 (2019).
