Matt Shaw is a shortstop for the Maryland Terrapins in college baseball. For the Terps, Shaw has had a fantastic, historic season. He hit a team-best 23 home runs and had an OPS of 1.217. He recently broke the Maryland school record for home runs, and he is presently vying with senior third baseman Nick Lorusso for the most RBIs in school history. Shaw was also named to the first team of the Big Ten All-Stars.

Other schools, like Northeastern, were interested in Shaw, but Maryland was the one that showed the most interest. He was aware that Maryland didn’t have a particularly strong baseball history, but the Terps have had some success.

Matt Shaw has a height of 5′ 11″ and a weight of 185 lbs. Shaw said that despite having a great season the previous year, the club this year struggled a little bit to establish itself. This season, the Terps suffered a few heartbreaking nonconference defeats, but according to Shaw, some of those defeats brought the team closer together.
