Bonitto was born in November 1969, in Lausanne, and attended the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, where he earned a degree in mechanical engineering.
He proceeded to bag a master’s degree in motor vehicle engineering at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia.
Mattia Binotto Career
Binotto began working in Scuderia Ferrari in 1995, as an engineer.
In 2013, he was promoted to the position of head of the engine department, and served in that capacity until 2016, when he took over from James Allison as Chief Technical Officer (CTO).

During his tenure as CTO, Ferrari took part in several race wins.
Binotto emerged as team principal of Scuderia Ferrari in 2019.
Binotto is married to Sabina Binotto and they have two children – Chiara Binotto, Marco Binotto.
Following a recent argument that surfaced in the media over necessary changes to be made in Ferrari, Binotto agreed to make improvements so that the team can win titles again.
