Max Pacioretty revealed in an interview with the Montreal Gazette that his parents knew very little about the game before he got interested in it as a youngster. However, they were supportive.
“I was such a crazy kid that my parents just brought me to the rink to get me out of the house because I was driving them nuts,” Pacioretty recalled. “My mom grew up in Mexico and had never been ice skating before in her life. So I went out there the first time and I fell on my face and cut open my chin.”
