Maya Moore is a former basketball champion who played as a small forward for seven seasons for the Minnesota Lynx of the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA).

Moore was born on June 11, 1989, in Missouri, United States, and played high school basketball at Collins Hill.

She also played college basketball at the University of Connecticut, where she was an NCAA champion on several occasions.

Moore won countless awards and honors including the WNBA MVP during her time as a player. She is a four-time WNBA champion, and a six-time WNBA All-Star.

Moore was drafted by the Minnesota Lynx as 1st overall pick in the first round of the 2011 WNBA draft.

Since she took a break from the sport in 2019, Moore has been involved in social justice and advocacy work, including making efforts to help overturn the wrongful conviction of Jonathan Irons.
