American production photographer, Michael Lamont who was previously known as a Broadway actor, has been reported dead. According to the announcement made by a publicist, the actor cum photographer died after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease on May 21, 2023. He was 76 years old.

“Every shoot is like an improv; it has its own life. In the end, it is always about the specific emotional life, natural behavior, working moment to moment and being well lit, combining these elements with the artistry and experience of the photographer to create and capture the moment,” Lamont once shared his love for photography.

He started as a Broadway actor when he had just become a teenager. His first acting was in Bye Bye Birdie in 1960. This was after he moved from New York to L.A to join the rock band Group Therapy.
As a photographer, he worked for Getty Villa, Shakespeare Festival/L.A, the Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles, The Geffen Playhouse, The Old Globe, Pasadena Playhouse, McCoy Rigby Entertainment, Deaf West Theatre, and more.
