Jenneke’s manager and mother, Nicky, told Daily Mail Australia that her daughter had been in “the best racing condition” for the Olympics as she was departing from Rio.
Nicky claimed to have texted Hilliard about his criticism of Jenneke’s performance because she was ‘disappointed’ by them.

Hilliard claimed that Jenneke did not arrive “in the shape she should have arrived in” after the athlete failed to finish the opening round of the 100-meter hurdles.
He added that he would also be asking the national champion if she had too many interests outside of sports.
Jenneke has been featured in the Olympics commercial for Coca-Cola and in the magazine Sports Illustrated.
