Roseman was born on June 23, 1975, in Brooklyn, New York City, and is Jewish. He was raised in Marlboro Township, New Jersey, and attended Marlboro High School. He knew he wanted to work in football from a young age. “When I was 9 or 10 years old, people asked what I wanted to be when I grew up, and I told them I wanted to be the general manager of an NFL team,” Roseman said.

Roseman began sending letters to every NFL team while still in high school. His perseverance grew from his time as an undergraduate at the University of Florida to his time at Fordham University School of Law. His job inquiries led him to Mike Tannenbaum, the New York Jets’ pro personnel director at the time. Tannenbaum interviewed Roseman for a position as a player personnel intern in 1999, but he did not get the job.

Roseman was hired as an intern by the Philadelphia Eagles in 2000 after being rejected by another team. In 2003, he was promoted to director of football administration, and in 2006, he was promoted to vice president of football administration.

Roseman rose through the Eagles front office ranks, serving as vice president of player personnel for two years before being named general manager on January 29, 2010, after Tom Heckert was hired in the same position by the Cleveland Browns. Despite his title, Roseman primarily served as an advisor to head coach and executive vice president of football operations Andy Reid, who had the final say in football matters.
