Actress and author Mira Sethi was born in Pakistan on January 12, 1987. After graduating from Wellesley College in 2010 after attending Lahore Grammar School and Cheltenham Ladies’ College, she spent her junior year studying abroad at the University of Oxford. She majored in South Asian studies and English at Wellesley, where she also served as the student commencement speaker in 2010.

Sethi worked at The Wall Street Journal as an associate book editor, Robert L. Bartley fellow, and contributor of political analysis, focusing on Pakistan in particular. Her employment at the Journal lasted around 2.5 years.

Mira Sethi is the daughter of journalists Najam Sethi and Jugnu Mohsin. In 2011, Sethi returned to Pakistan to pursue a career in acting. Her first role was as Natasha in the ARY Digital serial drama Silvatein, and she then starred in the Hum TV drama Mohabat Subh Ka Sitara Hai. Sethi continues to write both fiction and journalism. Her collection of short stories was scheduled to be published by Knopf and Bloomsbury in 2018.
