Murat Yakin Dates Joined
Yakin became coach of FC Thun in 2009. In May 2011, he joined FC Luzern, and in October 2012, Yakin was selected as coach of FC Basel.

Murat Yakin is a former football player and the current coach of the Switzerland national football team.
Born on September 15, 1974, in Basel, Switzerland, Yakin played as a centre back during his years as a player with the Grasshoppers, VfB Stuttgart, Fenerbahçe, Basel, FC Kaiserslautern and Switzerland national team.
He had helped his team win the Swiss Cup on the 2001–02, and 2002–03 seasons.
In 1994, Yakin won the Swiss Young Player of the Year and in 2002, he won the Axpo Swiss Super Leaguer Player of the Year.
Upon retirement, he helped manage a number of teams including the Concordia Basel, the Grasshoppers, FC Frauenfeld, Thun, Luzern, Basel, Spartak Moscow, Schaffhausen, Sion, as well as the Switzerland national football team.
Yakin has served as coach to the Switzerland national team since 2021.
In 2022, his country qualified for the FIFA World Cup.
